Middle School Evacuated, given the all clear

According to a district wide email from Northampton Area School District earlier today, an underground propane tank at the Vo-tech school was struck by the construction company working on the new middle school. Students were evacuated as a precautionary measure at 7:30 a.m. and were released back to class at 8:05.

No injuries were reported. The construction crew has resumed work on the project as of 9:15 a.m. The piece of equipment that was hit was no longer in service.
